Overview

IOCAP is a user-friendly HF frequency prediction application produced by the South African National Space Agency (SANSA). As a proudly South African product, it features a robust, proven prediction engine that provides dependable frequency predictions in the 3-30 MHz frequency band.

Key Features

• Dynamic Maps: Features two sets of world-wide maps capable of downloading live information. Maps can be annotated with communication stations, location markers, and distance measurement tools.
• Three Prediction Types:
  • Point to Point: Assumes symmetric circuit characteristics between two stations.
  • Reciprocal: Handles asymmetric designs, producing distinct predictions for outbound and inbound paths for easy comparison.
  • Roaming Receiver: Designed for mobile units (vehicles or ships) communicating with a stationary base station.
• Intuitive Reporting: Results are displayed in color-coded tabular formats. Green indicates values meeting preset thresholds, while red highlights areas falling short, allowing for "at-a-glance" quality assessments.
• Frequency Matching: Unlike generic tools, IOCAP matches predicted frequencies against a user-provided list of available frequencies to show the most practical options for real-world use.
